01 May 2019

Imperial College London has been named the UK's 'Most Innovative University' following the release of the fourth annual Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities ranking, placing third overall.

Despite uncertainty over Brexit, it was a strong showing from UK universities with 21 institutions making the final ranking. Other UK institutions featuring in the top ten included the University of Cambridge (4th), University College London (6th), University of Manchester (8th). The ranking was compiled by identifying 600 European universities with high academic research output and then evaluating that research on patent filings and research paper citations.

Imperial College London is a European university with global reach. They are currently ranked 4th in the Times University Guide 2019, 8th in the QS World University Rankings 2019 and is part of the 'Golden Triangle' of six elite British universities.
