University of Essex named ‘University of the Year’ at 2018 THE Awards

03 December 2018

The University of Essex has been named the 2018 Times Higher Education ‘University of the Year’ at a ceremony held in central London.

The University was praised by judges for “putting people first” as it eliminated the gender pay gap for professional staff, as well as moving teaching assistants on to staff contracts, ensuring all staff are paid Living Wage Foundation’s living wage.

The award caps a fantastic year for Essex, who also maintained their position as a top 30 UK university in the The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, as well as being one of only a handful of 'dual intensive' universities, meaning they are ranked as a UK leader in research quality (Research Excellence Framework) and quality of teaching (Teaching Excellence Framework).

My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
