University of Gloucestershire named as UK’s most sustainable university

18 July 2019

The University of Gloucestershire has been named as the UK’s most sustainable university by the 2019 People and Planet League ranking.

The People and Planet ranking is the only independent league table of UK universities ranked by environmental and ethical performance covering high level policy, curriculum innovation and student development, as well as practical impacts such as carbon reduction, waste and food.

Gloucestershire's achievements include integrating education for sustainable development into courses, a 46% carbon emissions reduction and the process of the removal of disposable cups from all its refectories and coffee counters.

Dr Alex Ryan, Director of Sustainability, said: “This is a really special achievement for us on this critically important agenda, especially as the changes have been led by students and staff across our university community. Higher education agencies incentivised universities to act on sustainability, but the serious long term commitment and smart moves for change often emerge from the student community."

My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
